Water fasting is a process for weight loss. During fasting you have to abstain from some specific food for a certain period of time. Only water is consumed in sufficient quantity to gratify thirst. During the absence of food starvation will occur and body starts to use stored excessive fat. A person fasting even 40 days on water will not undergo a deficiency of protein, vitamins, minerals or fatty acids. Weight loss can initially be as high as three to four pounds per day, but as the fast continues, the average loss will be one pound per day.
If you want to observe water fasting you should concentrate on the following points for better result.
It is better to use distilled water instead of tap water because distilled water has more ability to clean, absorb and drain out large amount of toxins.
There are no limitations or restrictions for water quantity. You can drink as much water as you want to keep you going. If you feel difficult to drink plain water, add some sugar free powdered juice or lemonade in water to make it appetizing.
If you are highly toxic obese person and feel the severity of the hunger pains and massive detoxification symptoms quickly during water fasting, it is better for you to use water and juice on alternate days. Mostly 3 days on juice, 2 days on water, 5 days on juice, and then 3 days on water are recommended. You can juice fast on working days and water fast on the weekend when you are on rest.
In the beginning of water fast, you will likely have to rush for the toilet with frequency because the body is not used to consume such large amount of water so water pushes on the colon and start elimination of toxic fecal residue. The best way to accelerate the colon cleansing process is to massage your stomach and press it with both hands after drinking water during water fasting.

After two or three weeks of fasting your body will tone up. Try to maintain your body weight by eating healthy diet because overeating can increase your weight again.
